SOULAR can perform as a 8-piece band all the way up to a 12-piece orchestra. We will customize our configuration to suit your personal preferences and budget. Our most popular line-up is our 9-piece group which includes 3 dynamic singers (2 female, 1 male), drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, and a 2-piece horn section consisting of a saxophone and a trumpet. No matter what size of band, we guarantee your occasion will be fantastic. We love what we do and want to make sure you do too!
Yes, we are a one-stop shop. We can provide a variety of ensembles ranging from classical string quartets, jazz trios, guitar/piano and flute/harp duos to solo piano and many other options. The music styles range from popular music, jazz, classical, show tunes, traditional Jewish, etc. Give us a call and let’s discuss.
We would love to! You have the option of having the band perform the song live or having the DJ play the original recorded version.
We play a great Hora! Keep in mind that it’s important to choose the right instrumentation to play a Hora. We will happily share our years of experience with you to give you the best results.
Our DJs make sure that your party does not miss a beat and will play music in between the breaks. The transition between the band and DJ is a seamless flow with no dead air. We encourage you to give the DJ requests in advance to customize your event.
Definitely! The bandleader will be happy to discuss your overtime options if the party is still rockin’. Our overtime rates for both the band and the DJ are in our contract.
Yes, you can. We have the adapters you would need to plug into our sound system.

Yes. SOULAR is based in the Greater Toronto Area but we have performed all across North America. We are always up for another adventure so let’s talk. Additional fees for transportation, visas, accommodation and hospitality can all be discussed during the negotiations.
Yes. SOULAR has a 2 million dollar liability insurance policy and our Audio Visual team has a 5 million dollar policy.

SOULAR usually plays 3 x 50-minute sets with 20-minute breaks. Another option is for the band to play sets during dinner and after speeches for dancing. Whatever you decide for your special celebration, together, we can make it work!

SOULAR designs reliability and performance into each event by using our state-of-the-art sound system with the best components in the business. Our audio engineer has over 20 years experience in the event production business. His main priority is to provide a balanced mix of the band and to ensure a comfortable listening level so that all of your guests have a great experience. We pride ourselves on playing the right genre of music at the right time and at the appropriate volume level.
We have several substitute musicians for every member of the band. They all have years of professional experience and have all performed with SOULAR in the past.
SOULAR is fully equipped to provide for all your Audio-Visual production needs no matter the size of the event.
We are flexible and always happy to accommodate in terms of space because each venue is unique. In general, a 12’ x 16’ space is best for the 7 to 9 piece band. For the 10 to 12 piece band, we require a 16’ x 20’ space. Feel free to call us with any questions.
Basically, Audio-Visual Production means “Sound and Lights” for an event. SOULAR’s Audio-Visual Production Team can provide full sound amplification and lighting as required for the live entertainment, as well as your speeches, ceremony, cocktail reception and dance floor. Our standard Audio-Visual Production Package includes state-of-the-art speakers & amplification, subwoofers, a digital mixing console, basic lighting, wired and wireless microphones with in-ear-monitors, along with the stands, cables and incidentals that are essential to our live performance.
All of this equipment is operated by our professional audio engineer who will deliver the equipment with a team, set-up and soundcheck the band in the afternoon, control the sound system during the performance, and strike the A/V equipment at the end of the night. We utilize wireless tablet computers when controlling the sound system, which allows our engineer to hear exactly what your guests are hearing and make volume adjustments accordingly. Audio-Visual Production can include additional elements such as staging, draping (for both décor and to control sound), dance floor intelligent lighting with moving and static fixtures, atmospheric effects with haze or smoke, flat panel HD televisions from 40″ to 80″, and projection screen options from as little as 7′ to over 24′ wide.
A reliable audio-visual system is a crucial requirement of a successful event. Please ensure that there is a minimum of three independent U-grounded 15A power circuits in proximity to the band. For outdoor events, please ensure the performance space is elevated and covered by a tent with a backing. We also suggest that you inquire about a stage or risers from your venue. If your venue cannot provide a stage or risers, our A/V production team can provide you with professional staging. We can give you a quote for the appropriate-sized stage for your venue.
Our standard lighting package for the band includes LED wash lights. We can also provide intelligent moving lights for the dance floor, décor or spot lighting something special, and uplighting for the perimeter of the room in any colour to enhance your party’s theme. On larger scale events, we can design lighting systems to help bring your vision to your venue within your budget. Utilizing various styles of lighting, truss and décor elements, our highly skilled A/V team is dedicated to using professional tools to deliver beautiful results. We’ll work with you to create a space in which you’ll be proud to greet your guests.
Set-up can take up to 30 minutes for a small ceremony or cocktail reception ensemble.
For the full band, it can take up to 3 hours for load-in, set-up and soundcheck. We guarantee that set up will be completed 30 minutes before your guests arrive.
Most venues have an in-house A/V system that is designed to deliver audio and lighting for a DJ and for speeches/ceremony. These systems don’t have all the equipment that is required for a live band performance. For quality control purposes, we suggest having our highly trained Audio-Visual team work in coordination with the sole A/V provider at the venue. If the venue can only provide some of the equipment needed, we can work with them to deliver the best and most cost-effective package for you. A reliable Audio-Visual system is a crucial requirement of a successful event. We want to make sure we provide you with the best sound for your occasion.
Of course! We can provide a sound system for your ceremony whether it’s in the same room, across the hall or across town! We include wireless microphones to keep walkways clear and safe for those walking down the aisle, and we will gladly organize all of these details with your coordinator to ensure that things are worry-free on “the big day”. We also offer wireless LED and traditional décor lighting for when you want a unique look.
Most event venues have a basic sound system for speeches but some are inadequate in their coverage of the space. We offer a wide range of solutions including strategically placed speakers with wireless microphones and a clear Plexiglass podium for a crisp, clean look in photographs and on video.

Yes, we do! SOULAR offers a complete consultation and assessment of your entertainment needs for your event. We make sure every detail is taken care of to put together a “Dream Package” that will make your celebration a success. We are here to help.
Depending on our availability, SOULAR can be booked with less than a week’s notice or up to 18 months in advance. We recommend contacting us as early as possible in the planning process.
We can hold a date for you and will provide you with an accurate quote, valid for 1 week, that reflects all services discussed in the consultation.
If you decide to book SOULAR, a 20% deposit is required. The date is officially confirmed upon receipt of your signed contract and your deposit. For smaller bookings, such as a DJ or ceremony musicians, we request a 50% deposit.
The deposit to secure SOULAR’s services for an event is 20% with the balance to be paid prior to the event. The deposit is non-refundable. Payments can be made by cheque, made out to SOULAR PRODUCTIONS INC. or by e-Transfer. If you would prefer to break up your balance into installments, we can accommodate your request with advance notice.
Any additional fees for transportation, accommodation and hospitality will be discussed during the consultation. If the venue is over 2 hours away from Toronto, overnight accommodations may be required.

Yes, we do. If we get a request during the party and we know the song, we will happily play it. One of the great advantages of working with SOULAR is our giant repertoire from years of working together. We also accept requests from our repertoire list 3 weeks prior to the event.
Given enough prior notice, we can certainly learn a couple of songs as long as they work with the instrumentation of the band.
